Hello everyone! Hope you've been keeping well!
I have been all over the place: hitting gamescom, PokémonXP, gamescom again, and now I'm stopping over in the UK for a quick visit with my family before heading to PAX West. It's been a busy week, so please forgive the lack of newsletters, but I've got plenty banked from my travels that I can't wait to share with you.
I'll have my Big Gamescom Wrap Up coming in a couple of days, featuring my picks from the showcases, as well as my hands-on impressions from the show, so please be excited.
But first, it's Monday, so time for a quick look at the week ahead!

Game releases
- Winner winner, immortal Chicken dinner: Breathedge 2 hits early access (Aug 31)
- I could be your angel or your... human: play as the Nephilim in Crimson Moon (Sept 1)
- RC u later: RC car racer WheelMates and idler Zad Archery are also out September 1
- Going Bombananas! BOMBANANA! launches on September 2, as does ship designer ShipShaper: Falconeer Chronicles and spook 'em up Withering Realms
- Time to go fast on September 3 with SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed, stumble home in Friendly Steps, or slow things down a little with BioEden
- Would you still love me if I was a worm? Worming From Home launches on September 4
- Big releases of the week: this is the skin of a killer, Bella. The Blood of Dawnwalker (Sept 2) launches this week, the first game from a lot of the team who worked on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Also out this week is Onimusha: Way of the Sword (Sept 4). Both games are reviewing very well, I'm excited to dig into them!

The Blood of Dawnwalker is an open-world dark fantasy action RPG set in 14th-century Europe. You play as Coen, human by day and vampire by night, fighting to save your family in a story shaped by your actions and the secrets you uncover.
Events
- If you want to check out the first game before the sequel hits early access, Breathedge is free on the Epic Games Store until September 3, as is Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition
- PAX West kicks off on September 4-7. If you're going, be sure to swing by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past panel! I'll be hosting it!
- Steam events now, and PvE Survival Crafting Fest is on until September 7, and Platformer Fever is also running. The Courage Cologne indie showcase was held during Gamescom, and they're also running an event on Steam!
- Two States of Play this week! State of Play and State of Play Japan kick off on September 3
