Peek at the Week (Sept 21-27)
Is it autumn yet?
Happy Monday everyone, hope you had a lovely weekend.
As promised, I did very little other than listen to the new Beck album, play video games, and attend an engagement party for my lovely friends Ash and Stu. Perfect weekend? I think so.
Now I'm coming at you on this fine gloomy Monday with a look, or dare I say peek, at the week ahead in indie games.
Huge thanks to all the Supporters who are backing the work I'm doing with LFG. It means the world. If you'd like to support the newsletter, you can do so at the button below. New releases
- Last week's LFG pick Dressmaker is out today (Sept 21)! If you missed Friday's write up and chat with the co-creators, check it out here:
- Time loop puzzle game Rivage releases tomorrow, Sept 22. I really enjoyed the demo for this one, it scratched the imsim loving part of my brain quite nicely. Hoping the final release is just as good
- From graveyard management and town restorer to the leader of an undead army: you truly can do it all in Graveyard Keeper II, the sequel to the cult classic sim is out on September 22
- Well, well, well. Also launching on Tuesday is Well Dweller, a beautiful dark fairy-tale metroidvania where you play as a bird armed (or winged) with a trusty matchstick
- They said heaven is a half-pipe. What if it's actually more like a Guitar Hero board? Nocturne uses a familiar fretboard for its rhythm action combat, with over 100 songs to play through and a rich narrative to envelop it in
- Take out your frustrations on a bunch of stick men to top the corporate ladder when Stick it to the Stickman leaves Early Access on September 23
- I'm loving the look of Nomori, a self-professed whimsical puzzle game that has you play with time and space in this perspective-shifter
- Big release of the week: It has to be CONTROL: Resonant. I'm a huge fan of Remedy's games, and boy, does Resonant have the sauce. I can't believe we're having CONTROL map discourse in 2026, I think it means nature is healing. Also out this week is Silent Hill: Townfall. I loved the game's opening hours when I previewed it a couple of months ago, I'm hoping that it sticks the landing.

Remedy Entertainment
Explore a warped Manhattan on the brink of paranatural annihilation in this thrilling action-adventure RPG. Unleash the extraordinary powers of Dylan Faden as he fights for his humanity and our survival against a reality-bending cosmic threat.
Events
- It's the Game Devs of Color Expo this week: an online event that is dedicated to amplifying and empowering developers of color in the gaming industry. There'll be talks and community nights, as well as the GDoCExpoDirect with new announcements to check out. There'll also be a Steam event with demos and discounts
- The Stronger Together Demo Showcase is a Steam event with new and updated demos from small indie studios. The event was put together as a way for small teams to collaborate and support each other. Love the mission!
- It's Serbian Games Week on Steam, with a collection of over 200 games made in the country
- The Out of the Box Showcase features over 100 games that are a little quirky. I am loving the way that they've categorized all the games by how the player wants to feel. Want to feel scared? Here are all the horror games for you. Want to feel smart (yes please, always)? Here are your puzzlers. Great selection of games, huge fan of this!!
- The Mexican Entertainment System is also live on Steam: a yearly collection of games made by Mexican devs
News
- If you're a game developer and you're interested in submitting your game to Day of the Devs for Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Digital Showcase, then good news, submissions are open until September 28. The showcase will air on December 9, just before The Game Awards. Day of the Devs is my favorite indie showcase, they curate a wonderful selection of games every year, and yours could be among them! Full submission details are here, good luck!
Thanks for reading, hope you find something you enjoy in here! I'll be back in a couple of days, catch you then.
