5 quick picks from Six One Indie Demo Days
Play 'em today!
Hey folks! A quick Tuesday post from me as we're slap bang in the middle of Six One Indie's Demo Days event, where the lovely team has curated over 150 demos for you to check out right now!
I'm a big supporter of their mission to champion indie games and to get demos in people's hands, and they've curated some really excellent games for this event. Demo Days runs until Friday August 7th, so make sure to take a look at the Steam event page before then. They also put together a showcase which you can watch right here:

Here are my quick picks from the 150 games in the event!
Curse of Resthaven
Maybe it's because I'm very Widow's Bay-pilled right now, but the act of restoring prosperity to a cursed island seems like a fun way to pass some time. Wait, there's a time loop aspect? My niece is missing? There are, gasp, roguelite elements? COSMIC DREAD? I'm sold.

Digital Bandidos
In this single-player narrative roguelite, govern a cursed island as you investigate your niece’s mysterious disappearance. Interrogate, trade, upgrade, and embark upon card-based expeditions to uncover dark secrets – before the next cataclysm strikes.
Servant of the Lake
I wasn't aware of the Rusty Lake series before playing this demo, but now I realize the error of my ways! A point and click adventure puzzle game with a smack of the surreal and a dash of the macabre: heaven. Not long to wait until the full release of this one, it comes out on August 13th.

Rusty Lake
Begin your new job as a servant at the mysterious Vanderboom estate. Solve puzzles, serve the family and uncover their dark alchemical secrets in Servant of the Lake, a new upcoming single-player point-and-click adventure in the Rusty Lake series.
Shutter Story
While I love horror, I never got too deep into the world of ghost hunting (sorry, Zak Bagans), but Shutter Story might change all that. Your friend thinks his family is haunted, and urges you to look for evidence in the photos taken by his family over the years. Using a top-of-the-line computer program, you're able to adjust the images to look for any trace of the paranormal... but you might not like what you find. Spooky sleuths, this is one for you.

Frostwood Interactive
Examine a family's photo album to reveal signs of the paranormal, as the horror unfolds in the house around you. Their fate is in your hands.
Screenbound
Screenbound has, understandably, gathered a bunch of buzz because of how it toys with perspective: the 2D world on your handheld Qboy and the 3D world you're running around in exist onscreen at the same time, making for some devilish puzzle solving. I played it at Summer Game Fest Play Days this year, and, while it took me a second to get used to this 5D gaming experience, it was a blast using my 3D and 2D "logic" to complete puzzles in unconventional ways.

Digital Pajamas, Crescent Moon Games
Screenbound lets you discover a dual reality through the Qboy! Navigate challenging puzzles and battle through multiple levels in a blend of 2D and 3D platforming that creates the world’s first '5D' platformer.
Muri: Wildwoods
And finally, a clean 'em up in the same vein as PowerWash Simulator. Play as an adorable critter called Pelle and restore the world to its natural splendor by scrubbing away the corruption that's tainted it. With added platforming and cute animals in the world to pet, this is looking to be a relaxing game to switch off with at the end of the day.

Speldosa Interactive
Plunge into a colorful, relaxing cleaning adventure in Muri: Wildwoods! Explore a mysterious island, uncover secrets, befriend cute creatures, clean away corruption, save the island’s forest spirit, and restore the world’s beauty.
Thanks for reading! Best of luck to the team at Six One Indie for the event, and huge thanks to Kyle for putting it on my radar!
